Melgisorb is a highly absorbent alginate dressing that can be used for a wide range of moderately to heavily exuding partial- to full-thickness wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, diabetic ulcers, donor sites, post-operative wounds, dermal lesions and other wounds inflicted by trauma.

• Not indicated for dry wounds, third-degree burns or surgical implantations
• Absorbs up to 18 times its own weight in exudate
• Made of soft alginate fibers formed into a non-woven material
• During absorption, the alginate fibers form a soft, moist gel, providing an environment conducive to wound healing
• Gel blocks lateral wicking of exudate, thereby reducing maceration
• Gel does not adhere to the wound site, thereby reducing trauma and pain during wear and dressing change
• Gel can easily be removed by irrigating with normal saline
