It has a mildly acidic pH (4.5-5.0) that helps maintain the skin’s natural protection against bacterial growth and irritation. It also helps protect skin against the caustic action of digestive enzymes, inhibits bacterial growth and attendant infections and abrasions, maintains skin’s natural defense against micro-organisms and neutralizes bacteria, eg. E.Coli, bacillus subilis, pyocyanic bacillus, which cause skin problems.
